What to do when your body is craving balance

Is anyone else feeling at the moment that the smallest things (tasks, conversations etc) feel like running a marathon?

Amid all of the uncertainty, stress, anxiety [read: fear], our body and it’s systems are craving balance - it’s what they were designed to do. We are clever like that...

Actually, every aspect of our inner landscape: each muscle, vein, tendon, ligament, organ and even cell within in our body is its own living entity craving this natural state. But amid it all, muscles become too weak, too tight or dehydrated and organs depleted or stagnant.

Much like remembering the state of Yoga, I’ve found that attaining this balance in the body is mostly a practice of getting out of our own way. It’s about letting your body, do what it knows how to do. And that’s relax.

For me, this is about quieting the mind and moving into the body as a form of meditation. Restorative stalwart Judith Lasater calls this “bodyfullness”, which I just love!

That...and of course a long juicy savasana.

Restore in particular is my favourite practice to share, so come along and remember your own propensity to self-heal from the deep state of peaceful presence.

Join me online for Yin / Restore every Friday night 5.15pm and get out of your own way.

Om Shanti xx
