We are on a big rock floating in space

Perspective. As we begin to ponder more our own insignificance, our load begins to lighten.

We remember that none of this is about any I or you. The world doesn’t turn for you or anyone you know, love or have lost. You, as they are or were, are one tiny part of the greater magnificent whole.

It’s been my own personal experience that life doesn’t happen to you. Rather, there is a learning in everything. And opportunity to purify your karmas. And what’s important is whether you’re willing to stop and consider, “what’s the learning in this” and “how can I apply this learning” to the rest of my time in the sweet state of being alive?

Embrace the sweet impermanence of your human existence and practice detaching from the habitual tendency of I or me. There’s peace here. I’ve seen it and that’s why I practice. To keep coming back to where feelings and emotions of sadness and grief and equally joy and happiness no longer exist.

We are on a big rock floating in space. I am not sure who to credit this to. I saw it 10 yers ago painted on a canvas in my brother’s house and it’s stayed with me ever since.
