10 ways to supercharge your kindness to animals
Today, October 1, marks the start of #BeKindtoAnimalsWeek, a wonderful initiative by Edgars Mission Farm Sanctuary which is all about pledging kindness to all animals to help make the world a better place.
One thing is for sure, we live in an issues rich world. And choosing which cause to support or put your energy into can be overwhelming. But I believe, that small and sacred acts of kindness can make a huge difference when done as a collective with a united intention.
I believe this is how we raise the collective consciousness, which will in-turn alleviate suffering and bring about great change in the world to benefit ALL living beings.
Also, did you know that kindness releases happy chemicals in your body? The mayo clinic explains: “Being kind boosts serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters in the brain that give you feelings of satisfaction and well-being, and cause the pleasure/reward centres in your brain to light up.”
So throw your support behind #BeKindtoAnimalsWeek from October 1st. Because “life is better with kindness.”
10 SACRED ACTS TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR KINDNESS TO ANIMALS:
Share social media content promoting #BeKindtoAnimalsWeek
Make a small donation to a reputable animal welfare charity. Some of the organisations I love include: Edgars Mission, ‘Til the Cows Come Home and Deathrow Unchained.
Limit or cease your intake of animal meat for the week. Check out Vegan Bowls for lots of yummy and nutritional recipes!
Swap your cows milk coffee with a plant-based option for the week. I love the Milk Lab Almond and Coconut milk which is available at most cafes and in supermarkets.
If you’re planning to purchase anything, avoid items made from or containing animal products.
Attend an online event supporting an animal charity. Maybe even this one with me. 😉💗
Consider adopting an animal from a shelter rather than purchasing from a breeder.
Carefully pick up a snail crossing a footpath and place it somewhere safe in the direction it’s moving to avoid it getting trodden on!
Reach out to your local Animal Justice Party member and volunteer your time on their campaign for election!
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu 🐮💗🙏
